the durty version

Reading Fortune Small Business magazine on my commute to the office, I read over an interesting article. “Lipstick on a Pig?” It spoke about Steve Horner’s efforts to bring bars and clubs in to the legal spotlight by calling their promotion of Ladies Night, as “feminist-Marxist”. This is something I have brought to the attention of my peers several time, calling it sexist, and ill-witted. Why should a man have to pay more money to get into a bar than a woman? That to me needs some explaining.

I am elated another person on the planet had the time and desire to blow the whistle on this sexist act that has been sweeping across our country. Horner, a 60 year old man has managed to file civil rights complaints against many Denver night spots.

Apparently his efforts made way into the minds of New Yorkers, having lawsuits filed against China Club and Lotus.

The next time I am presented with an increased fee for being a man, I will most certainly document it, follow up with a letter to the establishment, and then file suit. The same goes for establishments that have a 18 year old women / 21 year old men policy. I feel this promotes older men to buy drinks for younger women, which is ultimately illegal.
