BET is to air mixed martial arts on their network, called Iron Ring. It will consist of fighters that belong to teams that are financially backed and/or publicly backed by hip hop artists. So far the artists listed are:

• Rick Ross
• Ludacris
• Nelly
• T.I.
• Big Kuntry
• Young Dro
• DJ Drama
• Lil John
• Jim Jones
• Juelz Santana
• Alpha Omega

All the fighters are scrapping to get a $100,000 purse and also probably to get into something with more airtime, like UFC. BET will air the show on March 18th at 11pm; just after the kids go to bed.

BET already has a significant impact on the young black youth, as it is one of the few sources they get a view of their cultural deviations (from poor to rich and selfish). I am sure this will have an effect on the hostility coming from young black youth.
