You know me. I am always on a quest to find something good to listen to where the instrumental isn’t out-rhyming the lyricist.

Searching around the blog space this AM, I came across this artist: Blink. He’s from Lagos, Nigeria. Before listening and after reading about him, my first impression was sour, based off of my past experiences exploring the world for other dope lyricists. I think the science behind liking an artist, is being able to relate to what they are saying, and how the beat makes you feel as your listening to it.

I can tell you all this much. Blink let me with that hunger for more. While music videos usually don’t sell a track for me since I’m bumping it while screechin’ tires and not while on the couch; I’ll tell you this much though. Finding Blink led me to another artist I’m going to explore. Marcus Smith. Keep your eyes peeled for his area on thedurtyversion.com.
